March 29th - Maintenance
Monthly update:
Welcome back Hemlockers! Today was a brilliant day and a long overdue upgrade to Free Ride was implemented! The issue has always been the same - people braking between the shark fin and the tabletop. It would require us to regularly maintain the braking bumps and always pointed to a change being needed. That chance was discussed and the solution was to add two corners after the shark fin. With the goal of slowing you down which in turn means you no longer need to brake before the table.
Today's test sessions went well and we will monitor the trail as we move into summer with tweaks and changes being made if necessary.
Committee members present: 4
Community volunteers: 14
We carried work out on the following:
Site wide litter pick conducted.
Free Ride trail revamped to slow the trail down and help with braking bumps before middle tabletop.
Monthly observations:
Litter on the site has lowered dramatically thanks to new signage and improved messaging around concerns about losing the trails.
Electric motorbikes persist to be an issue on the site.
Future:
To continue with monthly maintenance days - the next being April 26th 2026.
