Mountain Bike Trail Maintenance Report

Date: June 30, 2024

Trail Name: Berm Burner

Location: Hemlock Stone Trail

Committee Members Present: 2

Volunteers: 1

Weather and Ground Conditions

•  Weather: Dry

•  Ground Conditions: Hard, making it difficult to justify using the full set of tools

Maintenance Activities

Despite the challenging dry conditions, some urgent maintenance was successfully conducted on the new "Berm Burner" catch berm.

Activities Undertaken:

•  Drainage Solution: The main focus was on installing a drainage solution for the berm. This was a high-priority task to ensure proper water runoff and prevent future erosion.

Completion Status:

•  The drainage solution has been successfully implemented.

•  Local riders have tested the berm and confirmed the effectiveness of the remediation.

Tools and Equipment Used

•  Due to the hard ground conditions, only essential tools were used.

Observations

•  The dry conditions made it difficult to perform extensive trail work.

•  The berm's reinstatement appears to be effective based on feedback from local riders.

Next Steps:

•  Monitor the effectiveness of the drainage solution during the next rainfall.

•  Plan for additional maintenance work when ground conditions improve to ensure ongoing trail integrity.
