February 2025

Monthly update:

A quick glimpse of the spring sunshine brought out our volunteers in force today which was especially welcome after the unfortunate postponement of February's maintenance day due to high winds last weekend.

Maintenance day:

Committee members present:4

Community volunteers: 13

We carried work out on the following:

General inspection of all trails.

Site wide litter pick
O.G upper section saw a big re work including:

- From the very start, the left hand side trail entry has been filled in and smoothed over to make it more beginner friendly.
- The first four corners have been reworked to improve flow and speed consistency through out that section as-well as the edition of a roller/pump bump before the first jump, the first jump has also had the lip reworked.

- Last but not least the hip on the second jump has been rebuilt, it is now further back and mellower giving a more comfortable landing.

Monthly observations:

An increased number of Surron (electric motorbikes) have been seen on site and we have received multiple messaged through our socials and on the group WhatsApp about them. While they are respectful and do not ride on the trails we are monitoring the situation and will work with the Council if the problem is to get worse.

Brilliant usage throughout February into march with us counting (30-40) users on the hill today, which is great to see everyone enjoying the sunshine.

Litter continues to be low throughout the woodland.

No un sanctioned trails or damage to the woodland.

Future:

We will keep maintaining the trails on the last Sunday of every month.
