December 2024

Monthly update:

The end of a brilliant year is here! We've hosted 12 fantastic maintenance days inline with our commitment to Broxtowe Borough Council to keep the trails running.

Thanks to everyone who's volunteered their time to the litter picks, re wilding and trail maintenance.

This months maintenance saw lower OG receive some love...

Maintenance day:

Committee members present: 2

Community volunteers: 12

We carried work out on the following:

OG Lower - We identified that the lower of OG was the least ridden bit of trail on the hill and wanted that to change! So we have re worked it to include a few more little corners where there was a straight and a nice hip option to the bottom table. To finish it the final right turn was given the buff up it's been asking for all year.

Monthly observations:

Numbers on the site are fantastic, regularly we are seeing 20-40 users as documented in some photographs. A mix of aged mountain bikers enjoying the outdoors on the trails we maintain.

Litter persists to be an issue but our community is always working to improve it with regular litter picks and trying to change the behaviours of some users.

Future:

Bring on 2025! We will be doing our monthly maintenance on the last sunday of every month with the diary open now on our home page. Check it out and get involved!
