Mountain Bike Trail Maintenance Report
Date: August 25th 2024.
Trail Name: Free Ride
Location: Hemlock Stone Trail
Committee Members Present: 2
Volunteers: 7
Weather and Ground Conditions
• Weather: Dry
• Ground Conditions: Hard/Dusty
Maintenance Activities
• Maintenance carried out on the Free Ride and lower OG.
• Site wide litter pick
Activities Undertaken:
• Step up lip re worked to make it less kicky.
• Step up landing pushed back due to people over shooting the landing in the dry conditions.
• OG last berm re instated to avoid people crossing berm burner.
Completion Status:
• All work carried out completed.
Tools and Equipment Used
• Regular tools
• 25l of water used to help pack lip in.
Observations
• Low litter on the site despite summer being the busiest period.
• Generally the trails are holding up well in the summer months despite the lack of rain.
Next Steps:
• Re pack in step up lip if it starts to rut up.
• Re work lower OG to make the bottom section more popular.
